Wave ride to Amherst Island

On a sunny, windy day, we sailed from Kingston for our cruise on Lake Ontario. The windy day soon turned into a stormy one with the corresponding signs – SOS signals in the air from boats in distress, rescue boats rushing past and even our relatively large and heavy sailboat jumping on the waves. We chose the quiet Karr Bay on Amherst Island where we’ve anchored.

Visiting Portsmouth Olympic Harbor

For fixing some problems with the boat’s engine and meeting the old friend, we visited the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour in Kingston, where sailing events of the 1976 Olympic games happened and enjoyed watching the CORK regatta. Also, we installed the Iridium satellite communication hardware, which was generously presented to us by MetOcean Telematics (Halifax, Canada). Thank you, MetOcean!
